The hunting area is situated at the Southern Border of the Gonarezhou National Park and in Zimbabwe. The area is a large hunting area and stretches 74km along the Parks border. It is well known for elephant and Cape Buffalo hunting. The best elephant hunting dates are April through August. The area also has good Cape Buffalo and lots of dagga-boys (Old Bulls) roaming in smaller herds. Cape buffalo hunting in this area is better later in the year namely August, September and October, as the foliage are much less in this dense hunting area.

The concession lies just East of Nuanetzi and covers almost 80 000 acres of unfenced wildlife. Experience a true dangerous game hunt with free roaming elephant, leopard and cape buffalo. There are lots of good dagga-boy Cape Buffalo, but it is recommended to come in the later season starting July August for good success. Other species roaming freely include nyala, kudu, impala, Blue wildebeest , Zebra, klipspringer, Sharpes Grysbuck, Spotted Hyena and small cats.   It is a true dangerous game area.  

The camp is situated on a hill and are comfortable and a typical Zimbabwean Camp.

This hunting area is approximately 100,000 acres with a 60 km boundary with Hwange National Park. Deka is a predominantly a big game area with good Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Lion.  The average Elephant trophy size is between 40-50lbs with a chance of over 50lbs.  There is limited plains game but this area has very good Kudu and Bushbuck.

The camp is situated by a dry river overlooking a small waterhole, which is frequented by bushbuck, cape buffalo, elephant, kudu, and lots of baboons. Apart from the fore mentioned animals, bushpig, duiker, eland, hyena, impala, klipspringer, lion, sable, steenbuck, warthog, waterbuck and zebra can be successfully hunted here. The camp consists of 4 bungalows with comfortable beds and a private bathroom. In addition, the camp comprises of a common dining/lounge area with a bar and of-course a great camp fire. no roaming and no mobile signal. There is cell phone signal 20 minutes from the camp but the signal is very unstable and cannot be guaranteed. Power is from the 220v grid with generator as backup.

Bulawayo airport is a two hour drive from this camp. Accommodations are comfortable brick units. Each bungalo has an en-suite bathroom with bath or shower. Hot & cold running water with national electricity 220 v. power. There is fair cell phone signal in several spots. 

This too is primarily a free range elephant area (144,200ha). It is not fenced. The Elephant tusk weight on average is lower here but they are normally in abundance and only bulls. The average trophy is approximately 40lb. In the past ten years we haven’t yet shot an elephant less than 38lb and were lucky to get a single tusker of 73lb. All the “normal” species of plains game are available.

Plenty of baboon eland, giraffe, hyena, impala, monkey, steenbuck, warthog, wildebeest and zebra. Other species available include bushbuck, bushpig, duiker, jackal, kudu, leopard, sable, tsesebe,  and waterbuck. There are unfortunately no buffalo.

This free range area (102,900ha) borders the famous Hwange National Park. The area is about four to five hours drive from Bulawayo and five hours from Victoria Falls. Accommodations are comfortable brick units. Each has on suite bathrooms with wash hand basin, toilet and a shower. Hot & cold running water. All with National electricity 220v. There is wireless cell phone signal in a few spots.

It is really a big game area, primarily elephant. The average trophy is around 47 – 50lb but every year a few big boys are taken, up to 90lb. All the “normal” species of plains game are available. To hunt 8 to 10 species of plains game in ten days is very do-able.

 

The concession is close to the famed Thule Block and the Botswana border. This 100,000 acre concession with an excellent variety of game including elephant, cape buffalo, leopard, crocodile and even cheetah are situated on the northern banks of the Limpopo River in south western Zimbabwe – a pristine, free range wilderness area of diverse habitats and rich fauna and flora. Here you will find remarkably beautiful landscapes include stunning sandstone hills, a 17km strip of riverine forest on the Limpopo River with riparian woodlands of enormous figs, nyala berry and even fever trees, as well as vast savannah and scrub plains with wooded streams and a few natural springs. Endless mopani bush plains dotted with acacia and baobab trees are plentiful and African wildlife thrives here because of the biodiversity. It’s simply a great destination for your Africa hunting trip.

Accommodations are tucked between giant boulders at the foot of a towering sandstone cliff and comprises 4 thatch-and-stone double chalets with electricity, on suite bathrooms with wash hand basin, toilet and a shower, hot and cold running water, a thatched dining/living-room area and an outdoor fire pit terrace overlooking a waterhole.

A second lodge at the the buffalo area,on the banks of the Malumba River runs entirely on solar power, with four double rooms with bathrooms en suite, hot and cold water, a living and dining room, fully equipped kitchen and bar area, and a fire pit under the trees. Both areas have limited cell phone signal in places.

This privately owned ranch is situated about two hours drive from Bulawayo. At the right time of year there is an abundance of elephant. At all times plenty of baboon, duiker, eland, giraffe, hyena, impala, klipspringer, kudu, sable, steenbuck, tsesebe, warthog, wildebeest and zebra. Other species available include bushbuck, bushpig, jackal, leopard, reedbuck, waterbuck and most of the small nocturnal creatures.

Camp consists of five units. (Chalets and tents under thatch). The chalets and tents are well maintained, all with comfortable beds, en-suite bath rooms, hot and cold running water, flush toilets and showers. All with National 220v electricity. There is cell phone signal.

 

The Matetsi Safari Area is situated in North Western Zimbabwe and is close to the famous Victoria Falls. Matetsi is Zimbabwe’s best-known and most popular hunting destination and with good reason as game is found in absolute abundance in huge herds of buffalo, elephants and plains game make this the perfect area to host the thriving lion and leopard populations that all call Matetsi home.

MATESI EAST / SILOBELA

This is a campfire area with good numbers of buffalo, eland, giraffe, hyena, impala, kudu, lion, sable, warthog, wildebeest and zebra. Baboon, bushbuck, bushpig, duiker, elephant, honeybadger, jackal, klipspringer, leopard, reedbuck, steenbuck and waterbuck can also be hunted.

Camp is not much over an hours drive from Victoria Falls airport. Normal brick under thatch units. Each has on suite bathrooms with wash hand basin, toilet and a shower. Hot & cold running water. Generated electricity, 220v. There is cell phone signal in most of the area.      

MATESI  SOUTH  / UNIT 4

Unit 4 is less than two hours drive from Victoria falls airport.  Species available include good quality and numbers of baboon, buffalo, bushbuck, bushpig, duiker, plenty of eland and elephant, some big bulls, giraffe, hyena, impala, kudu, leopard, lion and sable, steenbuck, warthog, waterbuck, and zebra.

The camp is an old converted homestead on a hill overlooking a vast slice of the hunting area. National electricity is 220v. There is cell phone signal.

MATETSI WEST

Camp looks over the Kazuma pan which stretches into Botswana. The area is known for big elephant, buffalo, sable and the cats. Other species available include baboon, bushbuck, bushpig, duiker, eland, giraffe, hyena, impala, jackal, kudu, leopard, lion, sable, steenbuck, warthog, waterbuck, wildebeest and zebra.

There are five brick under thatch chalets. Lighting and power is by diesel generator and solar panels. Each has on suite bathrooms with wash hand basin, toilet and a shower. Hot & cold running water

   

In the Savé Valley Conservancy in the South East Lowveld. There is a wide diversity of habitats including open acacia woodland, mopane woodland, thick riverine vegetation and broken granite outcrops. Both Black and White Rhino, as well as Wild dogs may be seen. This is a great elephant and cat area with elephants averaging over 50 lbs. Lion and leopard are plentiful. The Savé Valley also has high densities of buffalo. Other species available include baboon, bushbuck, bushpig, duiker, eland, giraffe, hyena, impala, jackal, kudu, sable, steenbuck, warthog, waterbuck, wildebeest and zebra. The camp has six luxury stone under thatch chalets with en-suite bathrooms. Generated electricity is 220v.

SAVE VALLEY EAST/ MASAPAS

Within the Save Valley Conservancy in the South East of Zimbabwe. It covers a total of 74.47 km sq. / 7500 hectares. Home to dagga boys, lions, leopards, elephant, sable and some of the best eland bulls in Zimbabwe plus a whole host of plains game including plenty of baboon, duiker, eland, giraffe, hyena, impala, kudu, warthog, wildebeest and zebra. Other species include bushbuck, bushpig, jackal, leopard, sable, steenbuck, waterbuck and most of the small night creatures.

Camp is a perfectly acceptable two-star hunting camp with four chalets, hot showers and a toilet in every chalet, generated 220v electricity. Each can sleep two persons.

SAVE VALLEY SOUTH

Hammond Ranch, Situated in the southern corner of the Save conservancy in south east Zimbabwe. Harare and Bulawayo airports are a five and half to six hour drive but there is a charter option to Buffalo Range airport or a neighboring properties’ airstrip. Both are within one hour from camp.

There is a really good population of buffalo as well as an abundance of most plains game animals. Without a doubt this is my best choice of area for quality buffalo. It is a good area for both the cats. Elephant are seasonal. Other animals available are baboon, bushbuck, bushpig, duiker, eland, giraffe, honey badger, hyena, impala, jackal, klipspringer, kudu, monkey, nyala, steenbuck, warthog, waterbuck, wildebeest and zebra

Accommodations are brick under thatch, air conditioned and bug proofed. National electric 220 v. power. Air conditioners, 6 x ¾ beds, on suite flush toilet, shower and hot and cold running water. There is cell phone signal in a few spots. The office has wireless internet and a phone booster.
