LUANGA VALLEY HUNTS

We offer prime hunting concessions in the Luangwa Valley – Mwanya Game Management Area (GMA), Upper Lupande GMA and Lower Lupande GMA. These areas do not require air charter flights as they are accessible by vehicle from the Mfuwe Airport.

All areas are serviced by high quality tented and hard thatch under brick camps. Generators are run in the evenings for lighting and refrigeration purposes.

 

Upper Lupande is a huge concession bounding the South Luangwa and Nsefu national parks. This is a fabulous area for hunting buffalo, lion, leopard, hippo, crocodile and a variety of plainsgame. 

Late season hunts also offer opportunities for good size elephant trophies.

Mwanya is a large concession in excess of 500 000 acres and has boundaries with 3 different National Parks –along the Luangwa river is the western boundary with the South Luangwa National Park, Northern Boundary the Luambe National Park and the Eastern boundary the Lukusuzi National Park. Mwanya is an excellent hunting block for Lion, leopard and buffalo as well as hippo, crocodile and plainsgame.

Lower Lupande

A massive hunting block in excess of a million acres and shares a massive boundary with the South Luangwa National Park along the Luangwa River. Lower Lupande is a world renowned area and famous for its abundance of Buffalo, lion and leopard as well as river species and plainsgame.

Species available in Mwanya , Upper Lupande and Lower Lupande include – Baboon, Buffalo, Bushbuck( Chobe), Bushpig, Crocodile, Duiker(Common), Eland(Livingstone), Elephant, Grysbok(Sharpes), Hartebeest(Lichtenstein), Hippo, Hyena, Impala, Kudu, Leopard, Lion, Puku, Roan, Warthog, Waterbuck(Common), Wildebeest(Cooksons), Zebra.

KAFUE HUNTS - NKALA

Our prime hunting concession is Nkala game management area (GMA) which lies on the eastern boundary of the Kafue National Park. Nkala is bounded by our second concession, the Namwala GMA which also lies on the eastern boundary of the Kafue National Park. 

Nkala is a relatively small area by Zambia standards (200 sq km/50 000 acres) but is situated in the game corridors of the big buffalo herds that venture in and out the Kafue Park. The terrain varies between huge open grass plains (dambo’s), thick jess bush and miombo forest. The high buffalo, zebra and wildebeest populations lend Nkala to some exceptional cat hunting, the lion population is very healthy and lion of exceptional quality can be expected. The leopard hunting is particularly good with the average weight of leopard being 60-65kg. Nkala is especially known for its buffalo hunting where trophies between 36 – 42 inches can be expected. There is also a wide variety of plainsgame including high quality sable. Sable of over 40 inches can be expected with a decent chance of specimens of mid to high 40’s.

Nkala is serviced by a top end luxurious Kenya type tented camp of where all accommodations include running en suite shower, bath tub, basin and flush toilets. The camp also boasts a unique dining/living area that overlooks the Nkala River. There is full time 220V power and the camp also offers full DSTV satellite television and wifi access.

Species available in Nkala include – Baboon, Buffalo, Bushbuck( Chobe), Bushpig, Civet, Crocodile, Duiker(Common), Eland(Livingstone), Grysbok(Sharpes), Hartebeest(Lichtenstein), Hippo, Honey badger, Hyena, Impala, Kudu, Leopard, Lion, Oribi, Puku, Reedbuck(Common), Sable, Warthog, Waterbuck(Crawshays), Wildebeest(Blue), Zebra.

KAFUE HUNTS - NAMWALA

Namwala - is situated in between the Nkala and Mumbwa West GMA’s, and shares a 14km boundary with the Kafue National Park along the Kafue River. It is a large concession, approximately 250 000 acres of hunting area. Namwala is famous for its huge leopard and sable. There is also a healthy population of buffalo and lion are resident in good numbers. Hippo and crocodile are abundant along the Kafue River and good populations of plainsgame are found throughout the concession.

Namwala offers its clients a top end safari camp; luxury tented sleeping accommodations, and thatched dining/entertainment area. Solar power supplies 220V electricity 24 hours and the camp also offers a Wi-Fi facility.
